Why Roadtrip247? I’ve always had a passion for people. I’ve always had a heart for those in pain and for those searching; searching for more, searching for something, searching for God. Roadtrip247 was the perfect platform where I could try to make a difference in the stormy waters out there. Life is hard, unfair, unpredictable and sometimes just too hard. I would like to bring God’s Words to teenagers in today’s world. What did you dream of becoming when you were 13 years old? I can’t really remember, but I always wanted to be a Spar cashier or shelf packer. Later on, I wanted to be an architect. What is your favourite colour? Navy blue and white.Greatest secret talent? ...Hobbies? I LOVE the outdoors, so anything I can do outside: cycling, running, hiking in the mountains, swimming in mountain pools, bodyboarding. I like braaibroodjies and chops, so braai is always close to the top of my list. What person in the Bible taught you the most? I think Moses and Jacob.
Moses – firstly, because for me he is such a direct foreshadowing of Jesus. Secondly, God chose him to take his people to the promised land and his first response was, “No, Lord, not me, I’m not good at public speaking.” Exodus 4:11-12 “God said, ‘And who do you think made the human mouth? And who makes some mute, some deaf, some sighted, some blind? Isn’t it I, God? So, get going. I’ll be right there with you—with your mouth! I’ll be right there to teach you what to say.’ 13 He said, ‘Oh, Master, please! Send somebody else!” Even though God chose Moses, Moses was human and hesitated. Not knowing that his God can overcome any human obstacles. Moses’ God is my God. My God knows what He is planning for my life. I must simply trust Him like Moses did. And see what a remarkable leader Moses turned out to be.
Jacob – longed for an intimate relationship with God. He didn’t stop until he received God’s blessing. Jacob searched for God. And he did everything possible to find Him. Jacob taught me to search for God and to keep searching even if I think He is hiding from me. God wants each of us to search for Him the way that Jacob searched for Him.
